NPNS Wheel Prototype 2

The first full-size prototype of Big Tyre's non-pneumatic, non-solid wheel for heavy vehicles was built in April 2011.

The second prototype was designed to fit an Eimco 913 underground forklift commonly used in underground mines.

The wheel deforms under load, providing a wider footprint and more even weight distribution, allowing heavy vehicles to operate more effectively on soft ground.

The second prototype was tested on an Eimco 913 underground forklift and at speed on Big Tyre’s wheel testing equipment.
