NPNS Wheel Prototype 3

Completed in September 2014 the third prototype of Big Tyre’s wheel has proven to be exceedingly strong.

Tested to a load of ~12 tonnes, the wheel has significant reserve strength and is expected to be highly impact resistant.

The prototype is expected to handle a greater load than the strongest pneumatic tyre of the same size.

To date the wheel has been tested on an Eimco 913 underground loader carrying a load of 7 tonnes (total load ~12 tonnes) and on Big Tyre’s wheel testing equipment at a load of 10 tonnes.
